The "Witness the 5-Hour Miracle” Event of the 2026 FENDT Forum Concludes Successfully: ZhiJiang Excellence Cup NDT New Competition Arena Witnesses Fierce Technical Competition, and the Science and Technology Information Session Yields Fruitful Innovative Achievements

On June 22, 2026, the Witness the 5-Hour Miracle” event of the 2026 FENDT Forum was grandly held at Primus Hotel, Nanchang International Expo City. Staged successively from 14:00 to 21:00, the ZhiJiang Excellence Cup NDT New Competition Arena and the Science and Technology Information Session formed a five-hour technical highlight session with continuous climaxes, emerging as the most anticipated core innovative activity of this FENDT Forum.

Three Distinct Competition Arenas Fully Demonstrate Core NDT Capabilities

Hosted by Zhejiang Academy of Special Equipment Science, the ZhiJiang Excellence Cup NDT New Competition Arena officially kicked off at 14:00 in the hall on the first floor. Mr. Guo Weican, Chief Engineer of Zhejiang Academy of Special Equipment Science, presided over a concise opening ceremony. Distinguished experts and industry authorities in attendance included Mr. Qiang Tianpeng, Honorary Chairman of the FENDT Forum, Prof. Xu Chunguang from Beijing Institute of Technology, Prof. Tian Guiyun from Chongqing University of Technology, Prof. Gao Xiaorong from Southwest Jiaotong University, Mr. Zheng Kai and Ms. Yu Yanping from the Special Equipment Safety Supervision Inspection Institute of Jiangsu Province, Ms. Tang Ping from Zhejiang Academy of Special Equipment Science, and Prof. Zhang Hui from Southeast University.

Built on the layout of previous sessions, the 2026 ZhiJiang Excellence Cup NDT New Competition Arena underwent innovative upgrades, with three featured professional arenas set up.

Hot-Topic Arena

The Hot-Topic Arena focused on wall-climbing robots. Seven participating organizations deployed various wall-climbing robot prototypes to conduct simulated nondestructive testing on vertical steel plates erected on-site, completing integrated operations including polishing, ultrasonic scanning and magnetic particle testing.

The arena drew crowds as soon as the competition began. Various wall-climbing robots stably adhered to steel plates, climbing steadily and turning flexibly to finish polishing and scanning in one go, winning unanimous praise from participating delegates. Conference attendees gathered in layers around the venue: some captured the live demonstration with mobile devices, while others engaged in in-depth discussions with contestants on technical details. The venue was filled with professional exchanges and compliments, kicking off the Witness the 5-Hour Miracle event with a vibrant atmosphere.

Competitive Arena

Retaining the classic mode of previous editions, the Competitive Arena centered on on-site hands-on skill contests. Challengers competed fairly in operational proficiency, testing speed, response sensitivity and detection accuracy to showcase solid personal technical strength, creating an intense and rigorous on-site competition atmosphere.

Demonstration Arena

A newly added featured arena in the 2026 FENDT Forum, it attracted numerous enterprises and institutions with engineering-applied technologies to sign up for exhibition. Multiple exhibitors brought their latest R&D achievements to the scene, and intuitively displayed the superiority, advancement and innovation of their products and technologies through physical exhibits, graphic display boards, video playback and live operation demonstrations. The exhibition area was packed with attendees, who stopped to observe the demonstrations and held in-depth exchanges with exhibitors on technical details, application scenarios and key performance indicators.

Centralized Exhibition of Scientific Research & Application Achievements Technology R&D & Application Achievement Release Session

The inaugural Science Test, Technology R&D and Application Achievement Release Session commenced at 19:00, serving as a brand-new session launched for the first time in the history of the FENDT Forum. Right after its opening, the session attracted extensive attention and active participation from all delegates. Representatives from universities, research institutes, inspection and testing institutions and NDT instrument R&D enterprises took the stage in sequence, sharing cutting-edge research results covering photoacoustic and ultrasonic testing, full matrix capture phase array inspection, electromagnetic nondestructive testing, digital radiography, infrared thermography and terahertz detection.

All released achievements integrate profound academic value and practical engineering significance, covering both original discoveries in fundamental research and targeted technical breakthroughs tackling industrial pain points, fully demonstrating the vigorous innovative vitality of China’s nondestructive testing industry. The lecture hall was fully occupied throughout the session, with delegates listening attentively amid a strong academic ambiance. As the second core segment of the Witness the 5-Hour Miracle event, this release session won wide recognition from all participants with its rich technical content, forward-looking research perspectives and practical innovative outcomes, adding a brilliant chapter to the 2026 FENDT Forum.

From the fierce arena contests in the afternoon to the high-standard achievement release session in the evening, the five-hour themed event delivered a splendid array of technical highlights. The three diversified arenas under the Zhijiang Excellence Cup Competition built a multi-dimensional exchange platform for technical competitions, achievement exhibitions and research on hot industry technical challenges; the specialized achievement release session provided a centralized channel to unveil the latest research progress and field application practices. These two sessions presented all delegates a grand feast integrating NDT technology and engineering innovation.

Awards Ceremony for the Witness the 5-Hour Miracle Event Awards of

the Zhijiang Excellence Cup Competition Arena

The awards ceremony for the Witness the 5-Hour Miracle Event was held during the closing session of the 2026 FENDT Forum on the afternoon of June 24.

The Hot-Topic Arena (Wall-Climbing Robot Competition) set multiple awards including the Comprehensive Performance Excellence Award, Best Detection Accuracy Award, Best Intelligent Solution Award, Best Efficiency Award and Excellent Demonstration Award. Winners were determined through combined expert panel evaluation and on-site delegate voting, and official certificates were conferred on all recipients.

Since 2019, the FENDT Forum has co-hosted the Zhijiang Excellence Cup Competition Arena Challenge with Zhejiang Academy of Special Equipment Science. Champions of each arena were conferred the trophy of Zhijiang Excellence Cup Competition and cash rewards, and two honorary titles were conferred upon recipients simultaneously: the Craftsman Award for outstanding technical operators and the Precision Tool Award for advanced inspection equipment.
